First Day of Pre-School (Pre-K 4years Old)

The front of our classroom
Praise God we made it!  My daughter Avionne had her first day of homeschool pre-school and we survived.  Between balancing work obligations and her learning we made it through.

Using the www.starfall.com curriculum and Backpack Bear, she learned about the letter Bb and the number 0 as well as two high frequency words see and me.  We will be doing this all week!  I learned a lot today after doing an entry assessment of her learning.  She knows more than I thought and yet there are things that I never knew confused her.  It's amazing and it was fun!

Here are pictures of our classroom (aka the hallway) !

Backpack Bear... our newest member to the classroom!  He makes learning fun and exciting!

We are pleased to announce our 6th annual Homeschool Open House at the Atlanta History Center on Monday, August 6, 2012 from 10:00 AM - 5:30 PM. We invite homeschooling families to explore the Atlanta History Center free of charge, including our exhibitions and gardens! Please note, tours of the historic houses will not be available during the open house unless you purchase tickets at the Homeschool Day rate ($8.50 for nonmembers; $6.50 for children of members; and free for adult members). We'll have information about our educational programs including all our upcoming Homeschool Days, Poetry Out Loud, Outreach Programs, Family Programs, and more. Plus, take advantage of a special discounted Family Membership rate of $65 for the whole year!
You can find out more about our Homeschool Days this year at: www.AtlantaHistoryCenter.com/homeschool
If you plan to attend the Open House, you do not need to make a reservation, or bring proof that you homeschool-we trust you! When you arrive, you will receive a wrist band and a map of the property. Free parking is available in our parking lot and deck, as well as along Andrews Dr. You are welcome to bring lunch with you, go out to lunch and come back, or we have a small Chick-fil-A on site.
