College Scholarship Alert! Deadline March 15 - Homeschoolers Only

SEVENTH ANNUAL SCALES OF JUSTICE SCHOLARSHIP

ELIGIBILITY:
The competition is open to High School Seniors and Senior Level Home School Students who
are residents of Fulton, DeKalb, Gwinnett, Cobb and Clayton counties.

COMPETITION GUIDELINES:
Participating students are asked to write an original and creative essay of 1,000 words or less
in response to the following question: “If you had the power to make any law or repeal any existing
law, which would you make or repeal, and what do you think would be the expected consequences of
your decision?”

REQUIREMENTS:
• Entries for the 2015 contest will be accepted starting February 15, 2016.
The submission deadline is March 15, 2016.
• Essays can be no more than 1,000 words.
• Submissions must be the original work of the student.

All essays should be submitted online via our website at www.frg-law.com/essay-contest/

AWARDS:
A $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to the Top Finalist, with $500 scholarships given to the
Second and Third Place recipients. Winners will be announced on April 1, 2016.

Georgia Fire Sprinkler Association Essay Contest
For twenty eight years, the Georgia Fire Sprinkler Association essay contest has exposed thousands of high school seniors and their families to the life safety and property protection attributes of fire sprinklers.

The Georgia Fire Sprinkler Association awards scholarships annually in the amount of $1500, $1000, and $750 to high school seniors through an essay writing contest.

South Cobb Homeschool Resource Fair Highlights



Mableton, GA - On Tuesday, January 26, 2016 South Cobb Homeschoolers joined with the South Cobb Regional Library to host the inaugural South Cobb Homeschool Resource Fair.  This fair highlighted over 20 exhibitors from across the metro Atlanta area.  Well over 200 individuals were in attendance.

The day began with a special story time event for kids with a guest speaker, Author Damon Hall and continued to captivate audiences with workshops designed to help parents home school successfully.

Andrea Hall and Dedra Roman worked hand in hand to make this event a success.  Resources from the fair will be made available to the public by February 26.

2016 February Field Trips

Home School 101 Session

If you missed the South Cobb Homeschool Resource Fair last week, you missed a treat.  We had several great sessions.  One such session was the Home School 101.
