Encourage Reading and Writing

Reading is so important for our children.  As your child starts reading, consider keeping a reading log.  This helps in three ways.

First, this helps with documentation for yourself to remind yourself of which books your child read or did not read.

Second, if you let them use this worksheet https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B0rXTqFiCfXRUk5zYUFxWS1Ccmc/edit?usp=sharing , they can practice their handwriting.

Third, they are going to want to finish up the page and start a new one so this encourages even more reading.
