What increases hostility between children? What attitudes decrease the hostility?
This workshop is based on the book Siblings without Rivalry by Adele
Faber and Elaine Mazlish. This six week workshop will help your
children learn how to live together. During each session, parents will
learn and practice specific skills to reduce conflicts between their
children. Participants will also have the opportunity to take a fresh
look at their own adult sibling relationships. There will be group
discussion, role play, and homework on session topics.
Julienne Mark, retired Youth Services Librarian, will facilitate this workshop.
The workshop is six weeks long and each session is 1 and ½ hour long.
The workshop is for adult participants. No childcare is available in the
library. The course is suitable for parents and caregivers with
children of any age. Participants are encouraged to have a copy of
Siblings Without Rivalry by Adele Faber and Elaine Mazlish. Additional
suggested reading - Between Parent and Child by Dr. H. Ginott. A limited
number of copies are available at Cobb Co. libraries, or for purchase
on Amazon.
